Karen Heng
Principal Artist and Co-founder of Slik Studios
Karen Heng is the co-founder of Slik Studios, a Singapore-based mobile art studio known for its elevated, design-led creative experiences. Her introduction to marbling began with a chance discovery—one that quickly evolved into a refined pursuit of craftsmanship, where art is not only created, but thoughtfully curated for meaningful engagement.
Since 2015, Karen has been on a continuous journey to master and reinterpret marbling as a contemporary medium. Highly versatile across multiple art forms, she approaches each craft with precision and intent, constantly exploring new techniques and formats. Driven by an instinctive curiosity, she is deeply committed to developing original concepts that transform traditional crafts into sophisticated, experiential moments for modern audiences.
A graduate of LASALLE College of the Arts, Karen has partnered with internationally recognised brands such as CHANEL, Clarins, Sony, and Shell, delivering bespoke creative activations across a wide range of high-profile campaigns. Her work is defined by a balance of artistry and efficiency—bringing premium, personalised experiences to large-scale corporate environments without compromising on quality or detail.
At the core of her practice is a clear vision: to elevate the perception of arts and crafts in Singapore, repositioning them as refined, contemporary experiences. Through Slik Studios, Karen continues to shape a new standard—where craftsmanship, innovation, and audience engagement come together seamlessly in every encounter.

"The most interesting thing about water marbling is the movement of the paint. It feels alive when you touch it, almost as if it has a life of its own.
